5th
National Chess Championship of Slovenia for the blind and
partially-sighted with international participation

Participants
In
addition to the eight best blind and partially-sighted chess
players from Slovenia, we are also inviting up to 20
blind or partially-sighted chess players from abroad.
Date
The
tournament will take place from midday on Friday , June 13th,
2003 (arrival date) until the evening of Friday ,June 20th,
2003 (departure date). The departure date may also be next day
after breakfast.
Location
The
tournament will be held in Izola (Isola) on Slovenia's Adriatic
coast.

Accommodation
and Board
All
participants will be accommodated and play their matches at the
modern ZDSSS recreational centre. The centre has rooms with two
or three beds with shower and WC. Food (breakfast, lunch and
dinner) will be served at the same location.

organisers will accept entries up to and including May 19th,2003.

Entries
must be submitted together with proof of payment of the first
part of entry fee.

fee
The
entry fee is EURO 210 per
person (accommodation and board) for the whole period of
tournament.

Costs
This
cost includes accommodation from midday on Friday 13th,
June 2003 (arrival date) until the morning of Saturday 21st,
June 2003, as well as food and local transport on arrival and
departure (Koper – Izola – Koper).
The
second part of entry fee –
EURO 110 for
local transportation, accommodation and board costs are to be
paid at the reception of the ZDSSS Centre.
Transportation
If
required, the organisers can arrange transport from Ljubljana
(railway station or the airport) to Izola at a cost of SIT 3500
or EURO 15
per person each way.
Rules
and provisional timetable
The
tournament will be played to IBCA rules according to the Swiss
system over seven rounds.
The
playing time for the first 40 moves is two hours and
then one hour
until the end of the match.
Matches
will be played every day between 15.00 and 21.00, except on
Friday, when the seventh round will begin at 9.00.
The
tournament will conclude on Friday at 18.00 with the
announcement of the results and the awards ceremony.
Prizes
In
addition to awards and certificates, the top-ranked player will
receive EURO 400, the second-ranked player EURO 300 and the
third-ranked player EURO 150. The next three players will each
receive a prize of EURO 50.
If
players gain an equal number of points the higher-ranked player
will be decided by:
