On June 22. 2003 at the European Cup Meeting in Velenje Merlene ran her season's best 200 m race: her time - 23.06. She became the first Slovenian athlete (male or female) to meet the World Championship qualifying time, while she did the same at 100 m distance 3 week ago by running 100 m in 11.22 (final race) at the AZS Cup (also held in Velenje). |
