Dear Sportsfriends,
We are honoured to invite you to the 4th
International Invitational Goalball Tournament for
national teams, organised by the Association of Blind and
Partially-Sighted of Slovenia
in collaboration with the Sports Federation for the
Disabled of Slovenia.
Teams
invited:
Max. 8 national teams among 11 invited (First
come-first served basis).
Invited teams are those already qualified for
Paralympic Games Athens 2004
Date:
Arrival
Thursday, June 17th,2004
after 14.00

days:
Friday and Saturday, June 18th-19th ,
2004
Departure
Sunday June 20th, 2004
after breakfast
Location:
The tournament will take place in the town of Izola (Isola),
Slovenia, on the Adriatic coast.
Accommodation:
Al competitors will be accommodated in the comfortable House
of relax “Mimi Breznik” run by the Association of Blind
and Partially-Sighted of Slovenia, Ulica Sv. Petra 3 in Izola,
in a twin, double
or triple bedrooms.
Food:
Food
( breakfast, lunch, dinner) for all participants will be
available at the same location.
Competition
Site:
The competition will take place in Izola’s
»Livada« sports hall, which is situated 2 km from the
accommodation place. The floor of the hall is made of
lacquered parquet.
Method
of Competition:
Single Round Robin System
Rules:
The competition will be carried out in accordance with
IBSA Goalball rules.
Teams:
The teams may register no more than eight persons (six players
and two managers/attendants). Any additional members will have
to pay a separate price for participation.
Referees:
The invitation to each team is extended to one qualified IBSA
referee of the 2nd
or 3rd class. Referees refereeing the competition
will not be included in the eight-member quota. The organisers
will therefore provide free-of-charge accommodation, food and
local transport for the referees. The contact person for

Entry
fee:
The entry fee is 1700 EUR for 8 persons. The price includes
accommodation, food (breakfast, lunch, dinner), competition
costs and local transport, from day of arrival to the day of
departure (starting with dinner on June 17th and
ending with breakfast on June 20th, 2004).
Local transport will be
organised from airport Brnik-Ljubljana (Slovenia) or
Trieste (Ronchi dei Legionari, Italy), from railway
or bus stations to residence and from residence to
sport hall and back.
Prices:
Team
– 8 persons : 1700 EUR
per whole period (Thursday afternoon - Sunday morning)
Extra
person: 250 EUR
per whole period . 500 EUR of the entry fee must accompany the
written application, and can be paid into the following

Rest of the full amount (1200 EUR) can be
paid directly to the organisers upon arrival in Izola.
Transport
information:
The teams can travel to Izola by road (Ljubljana-Koper), by
rail to the port of Koper railway station, by air to Ljubljana
International Airport at Brnik (130 km from Izola) and by air
via Ronchi airport in Trieste, Italy (60 km from Izola).
Liability:
The organisers shall not be liable for any accidents or
illnesses that may occur before, during or after the
competition.

The deadline for submitting applications is April
30th, 2004.

The teams are requested to bring their own eye shades and
valid Medical Classification Cards. The organisers do not have
their own official IBSA classification expert.
